About Jeannine
Jeannine Roy found relief from overwhelming stress and anxiety.
She incorporated yoga’s breathing practices and spiritual principles into her daily routine.
In our hyper-connected world, many of us rush through each day to get everything done.
We often care for and nurture everyone but ourselves and then wonder why we’re so exhausted at the end of the day.
And when we finally get to bed, we can’t sleep.
I used to be an expert at being stressed out because I was constantly dealing with competing personal and professional demands. At the peak of my healthcare career, I experienced a “near-miss mental health breakdown,” but thankfully, I had yoga. With the same self-discipline I devoted to my professional work and physical yoga practice, I turned to yoga’s breathing practices and spiritual principles to help me manage debilitating stress and anxiety.
A remarkable transformation took place while applying yogic nurturing and healing principles—I went from being in constant crisis management and overwhelm mode to being skilled at relaxation. I learned to let go amid the chaos of my high-stress healthcare management position and the demands of my family and personal life.
In 2015, I made a crucial decision regarding my life. I decided to retire much earlier than I had initially planned from my high-pressure, fast-paced healthcare career, which I loved. Instead, I decided to focus my energy, knowledge, and skills on caring for and serving others in a new and different way.
Since retiring from my 40-year healthcare career, I’ve completed over 1,000 hours of teacher training certificate programs and workshops with excellent teachers from various yoga lineages, traditions and specializations–accessible yoga, ashtanga vinyasa yoga, hatha yoga, restorative yoga, yin yoga, yoga nidra, and more.
As a yoga wellness educator, I provide guidance and support, promoting healthy aging in a way that honours the South Asian wisdom tradition of yoga.
I’m committed to providing for all my students’ needs, regardless of ability or background.
I hope to support YOU on your yoga journey with gratitude, compassion, joy, and equanimity.
